Q: Where is your office?
A: My office is at 115 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn. It is a 5-minutes walk from the Borough Hall stop. I also see clients virtually, over Zoom. Let me know which you prefer!
Q: How often will I come to therapy?
A: It will depend on your individual needs but sessions last 45 minutes and typically occur once a week.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Clients are responsible to cover the cost of any session cancelled less than 48 hours before a scheduled appointment.
Q: Are my sessions confidential?
A: Yes, all sessions are confidential. A signed consent-for-release form is required should you request that personal information be shared among professionals involved in your mental health care. Confidentiality is breached only if there is concern about your safety or the safety of another.
Q: Does my insurance cover psychotherapy?
A: Most health insurance policies cover a portion of psychotherapy bills. I provide billing for third-party-reimbursement. To find out if you have coverage, call your health insurance company and ask if you have out-of-network benefits, and what your deductible is. I’m happy to help navigate this process with you should you have any questions.
Q: What is your fee, and do you offer a sliding scale?
A: Please contact me directly to learn more about my current fees. I hold a number of appointments per week for a sliding fee scale. Please speak with me about your particular financial situation if you’re in need of a sliding scale. If I cannot accommodate you, I will do my best to provide you with a referral to another clinician or a community agency.
